In 2017 I was invited to accompany filmmaker Thabo Wolfaardt in documenting a program within the Rwandan national genocide reconciliation. The project involves reconnecting imprisoned genocide perpetrators, who are finally ready to take responsibility for their actions, with the survivors of their crimes who have chosen to offer them forgiveness. The following images feature participants in Project Ubumwe and members of Tutsi and Hutu tribes who live together in reconciliation villages.
